PROMETHEUS STRAIGHT CHAMBER PACKING (SOFT)

Chamber packing for AEG provided by Japanese parts manufacturer “LAYLAX”.
This is a chamber packing for flat Hop-up, and it has no internal protrusion for Hop-up. Therefore, it can not be used when using a normal Hop-up tensioner.
This product is a soft type that is compatible with the flat Hop-up tensioner.

Cautions

There is a protrusion in the packing. When using a surface HOP tensioner, be sure to use a flat surface such as a Magnus barrel.
Although it can be used for most AEGs, airtight leaks, clogging and double-feed may occur depending on the model and manufacturer.
Please compare with genuine chamber packing when replacing.

This item is a flat HOP, allowing you to rotate the HOP longer and shallower with a small HOP protrusion. By doing so, it is a packing aimed at suppressing energy loss that becomes resistance when passing BB bullets.
It is also recommended for High-power setting and can be used with PROMETHEUS “Hop-up tensioner series” to improve performance!

What is HOP?

It is a system that uses the lift generated by rotating the BB bullet to extend the fright distance without increasing the power. This is usually has a small protrusion on he fulcrum in the inner barrel. By doing so, BB ballets collide with this part and rotate, and Hop-up occurs. Depending on the protruding amount of this protrusion and the wight of the BB bullet, the fright distance will increase and decrease, and the trajectory will also change.

It is for intermediate to advanced users who know the structure and mechanism of an AEG.

The role of Chamber packing

This is used over the inner barrel.
In addition to rotating the BB bullets by HOP, there are also roles such as airtight maintenance of the inner barrel and nozzle, and prevention of double-feed of BB bullets.

About the hardness of chamber packing

There is a lineup of different hardness in the external chamber packing.
The coefficient of friction increase as it hardens. As a result, a powerful rotation can be applied to the BB bullet, making it suitable for heavy bullets.
Please note that if it is too hard, it will cause clogging.
When using a surface HOP tensioner, the area where it descends is large, so if the material is hard, the HOP will not descend on the surface. Therefore, we recommend a soft type.
