J-ARMAMENT METAL TEETH PISTON 14 TEETH
This is a metal Teeth piston for conventional AEG made by J-ARMAMENT with a reputation for accuracy.
This body is made of ABS and the rack gear is made of steel.
It is also used in the AEG custom at ORGA AIRSOFT.
Features of this piston
It is durable and the accuracy of the product itself is good. Therefore, you can use it with confidence in various conventional AEGs.
The 14Teeth piston is compatible with all customs ranging from normal settings to high-power settings.
*The color of the rack gear may change depending on the production lot.
Compatible models
Standard AEGs
It is compatible with Gearbox ver.2/ver.3/ver.6/ver.7/ver.8.
*It is not compatible with the Tokyo Marui next-generation AEG.
*Other than the next-generation, special AEGs with a blowback mechanism may not be supported.
Precautions when replacing pistons
When replacing the piston, be sure to check whether the piston moves without a load in the Gearbox.
Depending on the compatibility between the piston shape and the Gearbox shape, a load is applied to the piston. Then, there is a possibility that the movement of the piston becomes dull and may not move in some cases.
The check method is to put the piston in an empty Gearbox and move it back and forth to check the operation.
If a load is applied, we recommend to use it after removing the load, such as by cutting the interference part.
The role of the piston
The piston is one of the most important parts of the AEG. It is one of the parts for releasing air.
The mechanism of the parts is that the piston moves backwards when the sector gear meshes with the spur gear at the bottom of the piston.
The retracted piston is released when the teeth of the sector gear are gone and moves forward at high speed due to the repulsive force of the mainspring in the piston.
The air in the cylinder is released from the cylinder head nozzle while being compressed by the piston head attached to the tip. Not only the shape and dimensional accuracy of the spur gear are poor, but it may also cause abnormal noise or damage.
Lineup of typical piston gear numbers
-15Teeth Piston
It is a standard piston with 15 rack gears(not including the last tooth).
-14Teeth Piston
This type has no second tooth from the end of the 15Teeth Piston.
It has the effect of preventing a crash that occurs when the piston gear and sector gear collide when the timing at which the piston returns.
It was developed as a countermeasure against piston crashes and was used mainly for high-cycle custom before.
Currently, it is used for various customs because there is no problem with standard customs and high compression customs such as high-power setting as well as high-cycle customs.
-19Teeth Piston
It is compatible with long cylinders such as SR25 and L85.
There are 19 rack gears(the last tooth is included).
Piston gear shape
-Full-tooth type
It is a standard piston used in various AEG.
-Half-tooth type
Compared to the full-tooth type, the gear width is about half and there is no left side in the direction of travel.
Use this type of piston when using a 32:1 gear.
The Tokyo Marui next-generation AEG also uses this type of piston.
